Not much going on...

I've basically been trying to get rid of this cold I have had for the past week. Just a simple stuffy and runny nose, sore throat, and cough, but it won’t seem to go away. As if I would be doing things anyway right!

Most of my time has gone towards a new Sudoku Puzzle I found at Daily Sudoku's. It is called a squiggly. It is the basic 9x9 design but the boxes within are misshaped (see pic), there are several different shapes that they use. I don’t like to do any other ones, they are boring. Try your luck!

Karin busted out a bunch of pic’s she had and I scanned a bunch of them and posted them at photobucket. Check under Family, High school shizzy, old school rugby, self portraits, and also from the feria (fair) last weekend.

I am going into The Wall Street institute on Friday for another interview or whatever you want to call it. They wanted me to come in to discuss what they have available and what not so hopefully that will go well and I can start earning some dinero!

My good friend Heidi just bought a ticket to come down from June 14th-20th. It will be way awesome because Pat is coming down during that time as well. We can “double date” where ever we go instead of me playing the role as the third wheel. I’m excited to finally get a visitor.

We’ll see what’s up.

Nothin' like gettin' buzzed when you don't plan it!

Nothing like getting buzzed up when you don’t plan on it.

Karinski and I went to the fair that is really close to our crib (for those c-towners that know where our house is, its about from our house to 7-11, maybe closer), so we walked. It was tight, there was soo much going on but the first thing we did was find some beer! They had a Bud tent set up right by the entrance… one beer was 15 pesos, but if you bought three you got a free t-shirt… so we got three, two for me and one for Karin.

We walked around a market type area and found some shizzy for gifts (basiclly for our nephew Austin) and then headed to the food part and then to the rides. As we passed the food part I noticed several “full bar” places. And one in particular had HUGE plastic bottles of Corona. Karin wanted to get one, while she was getting her pored (they pored two 32 oz. bottles in them with lime and salt, also known as “michelada”) I couldn’t resist so I got one for me too. I didn’t know if I was drinking slow of Karin was drinking fast but we were head to head (I think she was drinking fast ‘cause I was buzzed and I couldn’t imagine how she felt).

She got some pics on a bull of sorts and rode a mechanical bull and we saw the famos dudes that swung around a pole (see pic). We got some food and then it started to rain and it was also time to go home to se the Pistons…

We watched the Pistons lose and then Karin went to bed. I went outside to have a smoke and heard the music playing from the feria and REALLY wanted to go back there to party since it was only like 11pm. But, number one… I don’t have the balls to go by myself and number 2 I think Karinski would not approve, so I chilled and watched X-Men II on TV.

I’m still havin’ a couple beers ‘cause they’re tasten good, and I smuggles a pack of Black and Mild’s across the border so I’ll have one or two of them (can’t find them anywhere down here… only straight up Cubans, which aren’t so bad).

Hope you enjoy the pics, there are more on the photobucket link to the right, as well as some video clips… ENJOY.

Be cool like me!

Shopping and Returning and why I am Proud of It

Hey… What’l ya know… I actually did something today to be proud of!

I woke up a little earlier than my usual, 10 am, due to a stuffy right nostril and a semi sore throat. It’s kinda weird because I am not one to get sick but not too long ago I had that 24 hour thing and now a cold, I usually only get sick or have a cold once or twice a year, but twice in the last two months… it’s just weird. Maybe I’m getting old.

I chilled out for a while on the internet and watched some TV in Spanish, I like to watch Spanish shows to try and train my ears, but I usually don’t really pay attention to them. Karin came home for lunch and I was going to drop her off for a trip to Mexico City for a meeting. Karin gave me a shopping list and some cloths to try and take back and said that if I felt adventurous, to take on the task. So I did.

I went to Wal-Mart and got everything on the list and a couple extras I needed (razors, deodorant, frozen pizzas). That was easy, not much communication except for when they as you if you found everything you were looking for, but I can recognize that by now.

The real task was to try and take back some shorts my sis got at Sam’s Club. That was going to take some communication. I looked up some key words I wanted to use, like to return for example and just went in. When I told the door lady I wanted to return some things, she told me to go through the exit and then to the service counter. Now… I didn’t understand every word she said but I got exactly what she was telling me. I was proud, proud to be able understand and not freak out at the first work I didn’t know. So, I had to go in the exit and have that door lady check my bag and give me another piece of paper that said I got it checked. But it took forever because she was the one who checked everybody’s carts and what not against their receipt, and there was a super long line. I had to wait a few min. At first I didn’t know that I had to get checked and she looked at me and said something that I thought was go ahead, but it was not. When I was walking away she was calling me back. Anywho, at the service counter I told them that I wanted to return these, then he asked if I want to exchange, and I said no. I gave him the credit card and then he asked who Karin was. “ella es mi hermana” I said. Then the dude said that he could give me store credit but he cannot credit the card that was used because they needed her signature, then I was like, no problem we’ll come back. I had to go back to the counter because there was still a security tag on one of them, so there was more communication to deal with.

Now, why is returning something sooooo important and exciting… I DID IT ALL IN SPANISH! I was super happy, I didn’t get confused at all. I totally got what they were saying and they understood what I was trying to say. It was just a little step in my not feeling like a dumb ass trying to speak Spanish.

Wall Street Institute sent me an e-mail back and are supposed to get back with me for a time to come in and see what’s up. I hope I can get hooked up with a job. To help my sis out and have some cash to do cool things when Karin is at work. I.e. buy lots of stuff at the market like bootleg DVD’s and go to taco stands every day, oh-yea be able to buy plane tickets and a lot of them to visit friends all over the world. OK, maybe country, but I do have friends in Europe and down under through rugby. But I don’t think I’ll have the funds for that for quite a while, due to the beer taxes that they have… AKA boozing all the time!

So now I’ll be taking a couple swigs of Nyquil Kyle style (when he is sick he keeps a bottle close and hits it all day), ya know… the nighttime without sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fever, sleep better to feel better medicine, and hopefully pass out!

Peace out!

Atempt at the dance sequence from the movie "Teen Wolf"

At the wedding last Friday, my buddy Inferno and I had this great idea to get the whole place involved in a recreation of the dance sequence from "Teen Wolf."

So he requested Thriller by Micheal Jackson and when it played we tried to tell everybody what to do. We thought that it was super cool and everybody was doing it... Untill I saw this picture and we were the only two doing it.

Oh-well, it is still super cool. Check it out!

Last weekend in town

Thursday night I finally got another shift of work in, the last one. It was another 3rd 11-7am shift on an assembly line, I didn't get any naps in before and I thought it was going to suck but it went by fast due to keeping busy. There was some sort of employee appreciation set for that night as well so they served us a huge lunch (3am). There was butter soaked sweet potatoes, veggies, bar-b-q chicken, steak, and ice cream and fruit. It was super good too because they hired a caterer to do it. The bad thing… we had to go back to work with a super full stomach and tired, but it was a lot better than the two bologna sandwiches I brought.

Friday - I went to bed after work and slept until about 1pm, I had my last Plasma donation appointment at 2pm. It was super busy, it took me like 2 and a half hours when it usually takes between and hour and 90 min. I was kinda pissed because I had a wedding at 5:30 about 45 min. away, so I had to rush home, attempt to Iron my cloths. Kyle didn’t have a iron and told me to use the dryer, and I told him that I wanted to look good and not like some hippy with nice cloths… I was mad. I planned on him not having an iron and was going to go to Inferno’s house to do it but I was running too late. I ended up using the drier and my shirt was still wrinkly, but oh-well. Inferno got caught up in traffic coming home from work and was late as well. Needless to say we didn’t get there until about 10 to 6, but no big deal because the best man forgot his tux so they started late. The reception was nice and again open bar, for some crazy reason I was all about wine, so I drank that all night. I don’t know what it is but earlier that week I was digin’ some wine too. I suppose I’m becoming a wino.

After the reception we went out to the bars in Grand Haven (that’s where the wedding was), but I didn’t get to enjoy most of that because I was witing outside for inferno and the bride’s sister (weddings make it too easy sometimes) to get there. Their driver got pulled over on the way and got into some trouble so they were waiting for a cab to get them on the side of US 31. They never showed up and I waited outside forever, then we were leaving and told them to meet us at the hotel. There were there when we got there. We got a free ride because my date and another girl were flirting with some dudes at the bar and got them to give us a ride, then we kicked them out after a little bit because they were weird and I didn’t like them. I told the girls to get rid of them or Inferno and I would, and they didn’t want that to happen because the wine gave me a sense of hostility and I had to itch to punch somebody in the face (which is not me).

Saturday we went to breakfast and then headed home. We passed a small flea market and HAD to stop. I found a set of 1989 Topps baseball cards for $12 and bought them. The album and the pages are worth $10 alone. I was geaked, I thought that they would say it was a set but take all the good ones out but they didn’t they were all there, Barry Bonds, Randy Johnson Rookie, Nolan Ryan… and many more.

We were still kinda buzzed and were in the mood to drink so we decided to go to Inferno’s house for beer and movies (he just bought a 51 inch TV and some new couches and we had a lot of beer leftover). We had a couple but then proceeded to fall asleep and we slept all day and all night.

I was supposed to go to a graduation party in Saginaw for my cousin Will but there was no way I was going to make it. I really wanted to go too.

Sunday – We (Heidi and I, more on her later) took off to my parent’s house in Saginaw. I had to get my vehicle back to my pops and I wanted to see then before I took off. We watched the Piston’s game and had dinner and took off. Inferno and another buddy Garrett were getting drunk that afternoon so we went to his house for a last night of drinking in the states.

My train left GR for Chicago at 7:30am and my plane left Chicago at 5pm. I am back in Toluca now and will be chillin’ for a while. I am trying to get in contact with the school I was trying to work with before to see if there are any possibilities and also planning my trip back in July.

We’ll see what’s up.

Great Wedding Nate and Jackie!

I went to a very fun wedding last weekend. It was my good buddy, former teamate, and former roomate Nate and another friend Jackie. I think it was really fun because the bride and groome share several friends. The ceremony was good (not too long!), then after that we had a sweet pre-reception hotel party with several friends drinkin' and sharing old stories (it seems that the older we get, the better we were).

The reception was great, good food, open bar, and a halfway decent DJ. Usually I tend to totally abuse an open bar policy but this time I was trying to controll myself at least until the end of the reception, which worked out very well. I wanted to make sure I remembered everything! After we partied at the hotel and had to move the party to several different rooms due to niose complaints. It was at a super 8 and there were like 15 rooms that were taken for the wedding parties. The crappy thing though was that the beer store on the way from the reception to the hotel was closed so we couldn't get any more beer and nobody was in any condition to drive to Meijers, so we made due with what we had. I resorted to drinking Captain and Coke that Miles had stashed away for this exact reason, the problem with that was that I ended up mixing it half and half... Oh-well.

As the morning came a bunch of us headed to Denny's for breakfast, it was the BOMB! Too bad my buddy Inferno had to stay in the car due to projectile vomiting in the parking lot as we were walking up, he decided that he wasn't hungry and wanted to sleep. My other buddy Fraggle was left in the hotel room after Miles checked out because he wouldn't get up, he called as we were leaving Denny's asking where Miles was and if somebody was going to pick him up, the maids went to the room thinking that there was nobody there only to find a half naked little hairy guy sprawled on the bed! They told him that it was time to go.

I got some good picks up at photobucket under the Gillespie wedding.

I am hangin' with my friend Heidi at her place in Dundee for a couple days, I was supposed to be working this week (Not in trouble for not working because I just call the day before I want to work and they tell me where to go). Heidi is heading to GR on Wed and we have another Rugby wedding this Saturday in Grand Haven. Should be other great stories after that as well.

I bust out of here on Monday the 22nd, back to Mexico. I'm ready to go back and I miss my sis. I will be flying back in July, more details on that when I buy my ticket... oh-yea, I no longer need my sis to front me the money for tickets because when I opended up a new checking account at Chase they gave me one! I've been trying to get one for some time, so I will just use the money I saved while working and giving plasma here to pay the minimum, and hopefully I can get hooked up with that teaching job when I get back as well. That would be tight.

We'll see what's up.

Done Entertaining

I belive that Fernando and Hector had a great time. We ha a lot of fun, from going out on the town in Chicago, playing pool and schuffel (sp) board in GR and a wild Cinco de Mayo celebration win DJ Frank Medel (my cuz) at Don Pablos in Saginaw (the best cinco de Mayo I ever had!).

I picked up a third shift job last night and am still up chillin at my buddy Inferno's house because Kyle house lost power last night and it wasn't on when I got home, so I went to Inferno's (where I used to live) house to watch movies and sleep.

I have a wedding in Jackson, MI this Saturday and another in West MI on next friday. I also plan to work all next week to make money for my plane ticket back to the states for family canoe trip/reunion/BJ's Wedding in July. So I will be busy. It has been a trip being a poor kid again. My only income has been $50 a week from giving plasma because I havent been able work due to my buddies from MX being here. Nothing but cheep Natty Ice beer and belogne (sp) sam-itches, than is just nasty thinking about it.

It feels good to check in, I finally got a reliable internet connection at Inferno's house so hopefully I can hook it up more often.

Peace and Bootie Grease!

Feliz Cinco de Mayo

It's been forever since I posted. I am now in Saginaw with Hector and Fernando and we are about to go out for Cinco de Mayo. A lot has happened since my last rant but I don't really have the time to go over all of it.

Lets see, we had our 4th annual GVSU Rugby Old Boy's Game, where again the Old Boy's were vistorious in a close match 43-41. I came out with about 10 minutes left due to a blood gushing head (not really that bad, no stitches involved). I really didn't do much during the game due to Mr. Tequilla still hanging around my head and stomach areas from the night before. The Idea was to get the current team really drunk off my 3L bottle so they would be hung over but just the opposite happened.

I started working for Manpower (a temp agancy that my buddy Inferno works for, he places people), but I only worked two days because I picked up my buddies from Mexico in Chicago on Tuesday and we have been slowly making our way to Saginaw and then slowly making our way back to Chicago on Sunday (to GR on Saturday, then Chicago on Sun).

After my amigos mexicanos leave I plan on working as much as I can untill I leave to save up money for a plane ticket back here in July for my family camping trip, reunion, and my cousin's wedding. I also have two weddings on the weekends. We'll see what's up.

Not too much access

Since I have been I haven't had too much acces to a computer. I absolutely despise to one at my parents because it is too slow!

I had a great Easter with friends and family and am now in Grand Rapids. I don't have a phone or anything because my bro didn't pay his bill so it got shut off.

This week I am seeking employment, I already started donating plasma to get $50 bucks a week, and my buddy Inferno is either going to hook me up with a cool temp job OR something at with the Whitecaps! It all depends on if I want to work all week like 9-5, or do I want a day to day thing. I havent really decided yet, I should take a long term thing so I can make more moula, but I'm lazy!

We'll see whats up.

I Don't Think You Know!

I don't think you know how good it feels to drink TAP WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless AMERICA!

First of all, Happy Birthday to my wonderful Mother, 29 right! Wait, I think she has been 29 for as long as I can remember, if I questioned it, I got grounded or had to stick my nose in the corner! I am a mama’s boy… and proud of it. If you are a young lady seeking for my heart, my Ma better like you or she will call you a hussie or a hooker and it will never work out. Te amo madre!

If feels good to be back in the USA. I did a couple of all American, twenty something young man things. I watched late night TV (no networks in Mexico, aka no CONAN!) Then I watched about 4 episodes of Sportscenter (the same one) in a row! And loved it! Now I am watching the World Series of Poker.

Tomorrow I am going to see my first Red Wings game (even though it is in Chicago).

I ain’t gonna lie, I had a couple beers (cleared out Pat’s fridge) in my own little celebration. I figured I should keep it low key since I have a LONG 4 day weekend ahead of me with the wings game, a pseudo reunion with my high school classmates, a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) pay-per-view party, my childhood friends 26th b-day party (our parents had to put a gate between our backyard gates because they were scared we would hurt ourselves climbing the fence at a very young age), and last of all EASTER with the fam. AND I just talked with my old roommate (Kunik) in college in The D (Detroit) and he wants me to come by for a Tigers game and a night downtown! I’m down for that! All before I reunite with my old crew in Grand Rapids for the Old Boy’s game and a couple weddings! But I was like, I can pretend like I am 21 again… I’m on top of the world! If not, I’ll just be hurtin’ for the rest of my trip. Sorry Ma, if I can’t get up for Easter Egg hunting on Sunday… I still have the flu… If you don’t believe that, I blame Kainski, Greg Cornejo and Matt Brukavich (sp, Buke), they were the first to introduce me to alcohol… WHEN I WAS 15!!!! I guess I can blame the blood after that… Naw, I’m still young, just havin’ fun.

Be cool like me! Life is good!

24 hours later...

Well, I feel 100% better. It is exactly 24 hours since my first symptoms. After my puking rally and my body aches, I started to get a fever (and the only cure is more cowbell!!! For those fans of Christopher Walken SNL moment fans). It got up to 101.5 degrees, I took a semi cool shower and popped some Aspirin and stated to feel way better. I ate some applesauce and chilled. The next time I took my temp it was a 99.8 and falling. I just hope I didn’t get my sis sick.

So, here I am at midnight wide awake because I slept all day. But… I will be in the good ol’ US of A tomarrow!

First Puke in forever that alcohol wasn't involved!

The first time in as far as I can remember, I puked without the aide of alcohol. The last time I think I puked without alcohol was when I was a kid, between 8-10 or so. I at a salsbary steak T.V. Dinner and puked my brains out that whole night. Lets just say that I haven’t ate one yet.

I don’t know what it was but last night starting at around midnight I started to get a really bad stomach ache, similar to the pain I had before I got my appendix out. I was just chillin’, watching TV and trying to ignore it. I am not one to complain about pain that much, but there was definitely something wrong. I went into the kitchen to take some chewable Pepto Bismol (NASTY!) ad laid back down on the couch. Not 5 minutes later I was feeling worse.

I went upstairs to my bathroom to take a big dump (usually solves any stomach problems for me). I was in so much pain I couldn’t even play my electronic solitare game. I decided that it was time to take a shower (my ideal puking environment). As I stood up from the toilet I got a huge sense of dizziness and thought for sure I was going to pass out and smack my head on something. But I fought it, and managed to get the shower turned on and get the right temperature and sat on the floor and just waited.

Sure enough it came out with something fierce, it didn’t taste that bad though… I had some good strawberries and a he bowl of Cocoa Krispies for dinner and it tasted like Booberry! But it was still nasty. Karin came in to check up on me, but first she went to look downstairs for beer bottles and didn’t find any, so she knew something was up.

After I finished, I could tell that I didn’t get everything out, but I was feeling beer so I went back to bed. Not sure how much time later but I got up 3 more times through out the night and just had at it. I figured it was just a type of Montezuma’s revege or something, but by time the morning came I was SUPER SORE, which led me to believe that it was some type of flu (I hope not). Karin brought me some crackers and Gatorade before she left for work. So I took some Gatorade and aout 5 min. later I was back hugging the shitter.

Since then I just have been sitting on the couch curled up and sleeping. I new I had to drink something but if I did, it would just come back up, so I just took little drinks spread out so that seemed to work. I was feeling better but still really weak and sore, if I went upstairs I had to lay in my bed for a couple min. to catch my breath.

Karin came home for lunch and was cooking some greasy ass bacon and burgers that just gave me back my nausea, so I went upstairs to lay in my bed. Ended up taking like a 3 hour nap. I am feeling better now, I at least have enough energy to sit up and get on the computer and I took a big swig of some Gatorade and it seems to be saying down (its been about 15 min. I hope it was just a 24 hour thing because I don’t want to bring a deadly Mexican strand of the flu to the US, and infect everybody on the plain. Karin said that she is going to make me wear one of those masks… I might just have too.

Thumb Twirling

Absolutely nothing has gone on this week. It has been a drag. I guess one thing happened, my buddy Fernando and his family came over last night to hang out and we looked for a plane ticket to visit me in Michigan when I am home. As we looked, we found a super good price so he bought it, it was under $250 round trip with all the taxes! So he will be there from May 1st until the 9th. I plan to take him to Saginaw to meet my family and also up north to experience Michigan, probably Mackinaw (Bridge and Island) and the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, maybe stop in Petoskey on the way.

Other than that I’ve just been bummin’ around doing nothing but watching TV, and surfin’ the internet, modern day thumb twirling. I even managed to talk myself out of doing the one thing I do once a week, go to rugby training last night. It is a long drive to Mexico City and since I sit around all day, that’s all I want to do. I made a lame excuse that Karin had to go to her Spanish class so I didn’t have the car to go (sorry if some of my teammates are reading this).

I’ve just been real blaaaaish the last week or two in waiting to go home. Time has seemed to stop (very different from before where it was flying) as I have been anxious for the 12th. I am very excited to go home for a while. I have a pseudo reunion planed with my classmates on the 14th which there are several people that are going to be in town from all over the state, country, and even the continent… ME! I get to spend time with my wonderful family for Easter. On April 29th I have the 4th Annual GVSU Rugby Old Boy’s game where a lot of guys come back that have played there in the past to play against the current team and then have a big party, basically all us old guys get to time travel back in time and act like we are in college again (not that I have gotten past that stage yet, but there are a couple of us that have real jobs, wives, and families). I get to be a host to somebody that has never been in the sates, let alone the best state of Michigan. And I have two weddings to go to of past rugby buddies. A month and 10 days may seem like a long visit but I am going to keep busy. I also have some friends and family in the Detroit area I want to visit as well.

I will get my tax return back on the 10th but most of it will go to Karin for buying my plane ticket and paying for my trip to the caves, among other things. I plan on selling my plasma (I used to do it on and off for 4 years, it’s completely safe) and getting a temp job through my buddy Inferno who works for a temp agency in Grand Rapids to have money to spend while I am home and hopefully have some left over to bring back.

I haven’t heard anything from the Wall Street Institute in a couple weeks, which I think is incredibly unprofessional, but I think they may just be waiting until I get back to get things rolling, I hope. They told me before that it was no problem that I was leaving for a while and that I didn’t have a FM3 (green card). They keep sending me e-mails telling me that there are no problems and that they want me to come in the next week, and then I reply and ask when a good time to come in is, and no return. That happened twice, just getting a little frustrated. I really don’t have very many options to get some dough. I fell kinda bad free loading all this time…

We’ll see what’s up. Be cool like me!

Good Immigration News

I thought I was going to have to get an extension on my tourist visa because my 90 days is up on Wed. But after I looked at my immigration form, they already gave me 180 days! Usually if you travel my air they will give you 90 days, but if you cross the border by land (like we did) they can give you 180 days, but I read that you have to ask for the extension. But apperently they did it automaticly! Now I dont have to find the immigration office and pay whatever they charge.

To bad I didn't find out this information untill after Karin woke me up at 8am to take her to work so I could use her car. Right before we were to leave I mentioned what I read about asking for 180 days, then I looked at my form and it had a 180 up in there. As soon as Karin was like "cool," I had already changed back into my jammies and was laying on the couch for a morning nap.

Rugby in Celaya, Guanajuato

Let me start by saying my total time on the couch was like 65 hours. I ended up going into my bed to sleep that night. But as soon as the morning (afternoon) came around I went right back to the couch, but I did end up getting out of the house that night to drive to Mexico City to pick up Karinski at the airport. Thursday was pretty much the same but I again drove to Mexico City for Rugby practice.

Saturday –
We were to go to the land of our grandfather's family, the state of Guanajuato. They were from a small town called Santa Getrudis. I tried to find it on a map but with no luck, that would have been cool to visit and take some pictures to share with the family.

We woke up early; we were to meet at the place where we practice at 9:30. The schedule was to head out early (it was about a 3-4 hour drive to Celaya, Guanajuato, just North West of Queretaro) because we were going to supposedly the best place for barbacoa (sheep) in Mexico for breakfast. It was amazing.

We got to the University of Celaya with plenty of time to relax and let our meal digest although I was still burping up my barbacoa up until we started to play. I guess I should have chilled out a little bit, but it was sooooooo good, especially with the cilantro, sebolla, limon (lime), cuarto tipos de salsa y jugo de naranja.

Celaya is one of the good and organized teams in Mexico. It was a good match but again we were on the losing side. They had a really big and strong pack that controlled a lot of the game. I started at inside center, didn’t get very many touches though. The second half I was moved to flanker. Usually I prefer the backs but lately have been really digging the flanker position. A lot of time the rucks are very sloppy with a lot of opposition falling on the ball and using their hands so I like to teach them a lesson here and there… with my boot! It is also really fun to clear out the rucks with my fists when a dude is trying to poach the ball with his head down. Nothing like a nice smack in the face to remind them to think twice next time they try to kill my ruck. So I think it is the fact that I get to play more around the ruck that I like, I can really use my experience to help clean up the bodies and hands.

The social was at a hacienda. The members of Celaya have a lot of money so they have cool places to party. We drove out to the country and there was a huge house, there was a courtyard with a pool and it would be a sweet place to throw a party. Basically we hung out for a little bit, ate some food, drank a couple beers and were on our way… it was a long drive back. I have a couple cool pics of the sunset in guanajuato but I am again having trouple posting them here, so you can see them at my photobucket link.

After a couple beers after a match, you get the itch for more. So we decided to get some roadies to booze cruise on the way home. Don’t worry, technically it is illegal but you can do whatever you want in Mexico so it was no problem. It was Karin driving (because I drove there) and my good buddies Ofo, Nico, and Christian. It was a rather short ride with all the fun we were having. We were jammin’ to tunes and we were smokin’ Cuban cigars!

We got back to Ofo’s place for more boozin’ in Mexico City. We didn’t hang out for very long because we were tired and still had a long drive back to Toluca. IT took us a while to figure out where to go but we finally got there. I made a couple calls to a couple people and pretty much hit the hay. I woke up with my face hurting (got popped in the nose) and a really sore shoulder. Busted up shoulders are the worst because you can’t do a lot of the normal everyday things you are used to like wiping your ass, washing your hair, and sleeping in the positions that you like. It feels a lot better now, I just hae to have a constant flow of aspirin to help me out.

I have two new video clips to show. The first one is a really short one of a lineout

And then the secod one is the ride to the hacienda for the social

They are kinda lame but I was just tryin' to have some fun.

ONLY 10 MORE DAYS TO OUR TRIP BACK HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hasta la vista.

60 and counting!

I don't know weather to be proud or embarrased. When I got up this morning I really didn't feel like doing anything so I did't. I was going to go to the gym but there was some good TV shows on so I didn't, maybe tomarrow.

I did however manage to do a load of laundry (couldn't dry because it started to rain). Thats about it. Oh-yea, I got the address to where I need to go to get my Visa extended, because I will be here for 100 days since I got back after Christmas and my passport is only good for 90, but I didnt go because it will cost some dough and I don't have any (I only have 80 pesos and I need it for gas to pick up Karinski at the airport in Mexico City).

So.... for most of the day I sat in my spot in the corner of the couch and watched TV/surfed the internet. I got up a couple times to make burgers, shower, and use the bathroom. I did a big search of old school cartoons and TV shows from when I was a kid. I got a hold of a lot of clips and Intro's, that was fun, it brought back a lot of memories. I also found a site where I can watch old episodes of "You Can't Do That On Television," that was AWESOME!

I will again sleep right where I am and again I will hope for some initiative to go to the gym or something, at least I will be either picking up Karin or going bowling in the latter part of the day, so my consecutive hours of nothing will be broken.

37 straight hours on the couch!

I have been on the couch with the laptop on and infront of the TV since I got back from Mexico City at about noon on Sunday, it is now 1am Tuesday morning. The only time I have gotten up was to shower, use the bathroom, or cook a meal. I was hopeing to have a couple bucks to go see a movie or something but the damn corrupted police took care of that real quick.

I think Tomarro my body will be ready for the gym, I usually need two days after a rugby match and a good late night of drinkin'. I think I'll be nice and rested by the morning.

I will keep you posted on how many hours total I will be on the couch before I actually get up and do something (I've been sleeping on the couch as well, I was having trouble sleeping on it but I found a way that is really comfy!). I'm thinking about another 8 or 9 hours, maybe more. I may just see how long I can actually take it! I thought about just taking a bunch of sleeping pills and just sleep untill I have to pick up Karin, sounds like a good time to me! I wish I had a couple hundred bucks, I would have flown to Cancun or something for a day or two.

Don't get me wrong, I am really bored and I wish I had something to do, but I don't. I'm still waiting on the English school (they keep telling me that there are no problems and they will have me come in next week but then I won't hear from then for like two weeks and they say the same thing). I keep myself occupied with my regular TV shows, myspace, and Yahoo! Euchre. We'll see what's up.

Drive Back to Toluca the Morning After

I woke up about 9am and everybody was still passed out, I had no idea how to get back to Toluca and I didn't want to wake anybody up. So I decided to have the adventure of trying to find my way myself. I had a good map and a good idea of where I was but it was really difficult because there is not very many street signs. So I found a main road and startd to head in the direction that I needed to go (due to the trusty compass on my windshield). I would see a ray of light with a Toluca sign, but then the road would split and I didn't know whech way to go so I often missed those opportunities, that happened a couple of times.

I thought I was headed the right way when all of a sudden I found myself in a bus station with cops waving at me, I must have been somewhere I shouldn't have been. So I stopped to talk to them and told them I was lost and that I needed to go to Toluca. They gave me pretty good directions that got me to where I needed to go but I had to pay them! They were telling me that they were going to give me a ticket for something, I couldn't understand what they were saying what for, but they said I could go if I gave them $200 pesos. So I did, it sucked because Karin left me with only $700 pesos, and after tolls and beer I was running low, and $400 of that was for the maid! Needles to say, I don't have enough money to pay our maid on Wed, and there is only 1/4 of a tank of gas and I might have to pick up Karin in Mexico City at the airport on Wed as well, so the first thing I need is gas.

I finally made it home after about 3 and a half hours worth of driving, super dehydrated, hungover, and hurting. My lower back is killing me and I banged up my knee pretty good (falling on the hard ass pitch). So I took a shower and crashed on the coutch.

I was waiting for a call from Veronica to get her her dogs back, I felt kinda bad because they didn't get their meel last night but I left them more than usuall before I left, and I wasn't going to tell the guys that I had to go back after the game to feed some dogs. They were fine. She called about 8pm and I gathered up everything and droped them off to her, no more stinkin' dogs. But there is cotton all over the back yard because they attacked their bed... oh-well, I have a couple days to clean up, but for now I just want to be lazy, and they chewed the hel out of our nozzle for the hose. I have the feeling that I will just be laying on the couch all day tomarro as well. We'll see whats up.

Saturday Rugby Activities

I took Kairn to the bus station at about 3 am on saturday morning. I fergot that I was only taking her to the bus statin and not all the way to the airport so all night I was worried that I was going to be but tired all day for my rugby match, but relieved when I remembered that it was only the bus station which is in Toluca as opposed to the airport in Mexico City which would have been about a 3-4 hour trip. All was well.

Our game was at a place they call "la Isla," and it was in the north west of Mexico City. We were to meet off a Toll highway and it was fairly easy to find, thank god they give good directions with land marks. It took me about 2 hours to get there from Toluca. Once we were at the meting place we caravaned it to the pitch which was way back in the hills via a gravel road with many turns that were not marked, I would have never found it alone.

The pitch was the worst I have ever played on. The grass was all dead, the ground was hard, it was lumpier than blind person's book, on three sides there was deep ravines so everytime the ball was kicked out it would have to be chased and it took a while, even though were using two balls, they were sometimes being gathered a the same time.... a little break.

We lost to the Tazmania Rugby Club. I can't remember the score but I think we lost by like two tries or close to that. It was a good match. They had a couple strong runners and their 8 man was a stud. He was proball 6'5'' or taller, he appeared somewhat skinny but he was solid and coule very well have been the hardest person I have ever tried to tackel. I played at a wing forward (#6) and my job was to watch for the 8 man pickup so I saw him a lot. Did a pretty good job I think. There was one time where the 8 man picked it up from the scrum and Initialy I missed the tackel on him but hung with him and rode him until I got him out of bounds. I was told defensively to be on the same side as a big Irish guy and stick with him, I did my job well but the dude didn't do much due to a bad wheel.

There was another game after us and everybody stuck around for beer and they were grilling burgers, chicken and shrimp for tacos. It was all normal after the match rugby fun with people having to shoot the boot when they spiled beer and what not. It was fun, I got to know a lot of they guys a little better.

Since I had the car and that I really didn't have anything to do I told thatm that I wanted to stick around and party in Mexico City, so one of the guys, ofo, said that he will have people over. So I followed them to his house ina neighborhood they call naranjo. First we went to a taco joint and ate a bunch of tacos, bought beer, and headed to his place for the fiesta. He had a nice crib, his parents owned a couple of the buildings there. He had a sewwt sterio and a really nice plasma screen TV. It was a sweet bachelor pad. Anyway, there was a lot of people there, mostly rugby guys and their women (I don't think any of them were single:(. There was a lot of drinking and dancing. We danced to all kinds of music, but mostly mexican dancing. We partied all night.
